[Weekend Meditation]

Looking back on the week: Who is God?

(Mon) The God of Ebenezer, who uses even our greatest place of failure as evidence that “He has helped us this far.”

(Tues) The God who transforms our foolishness of seeking a visible king into the confession, “The Lord alone is King.”

(Wed) The God of Coram Deo, who teaches us true humility by having us stand ‘before God’ to see ourselves.

(Thurs) The God of mercy, who gives us a ‘new heart’ to live as a ‘new person’ regardless of our state.

(Fri) The God of wisdom and love, who lets us get what we desire, only to make us keenly realize the futility of that desire.

That God is our God.

– May you have a blessed weekend reflecting on our contradiction of seeking a human king even after experiencing the grace of Ebenezer, and on the faithfulness of God who nevertheless deals with us and leads us.
