[A Meditation on One Verse]

(Joshua 3:17) “The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel passed over on dry ground, until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.”

When the feet of the priests touched the water, the flowing water stopped, and the people crossed the Jordan on dry ground. This crossing was possible not because the people overcame the river, but because God made a way—where there was no way.

The “today” that has been given to us is also a path made by the Lord. Our “today” is the opening of a path where there was none. The Lord stands firm on dry ground until we have completely crossed the path of this “today.” That is why we are safe.

Therefore, we begin “today” with full expectation and hope.
